When a divorce involves children, my philosophy is to place the children in a position of highest priority so the process itself does not damage them any further.

First, do no harm.

When children are the priority, then decisions become less bitter, less complicated, less difficult and more nurturing to all parties involved. As a family law attorney, I provide clients with a full range of services related to divorce, legal separation, annulment, spousal support, common law marriages, child custody (allocation of parental responsibilities), visitation (parenting time), child support, paternity, stepparent adoption and pre-nuptial agreements. My office is centrally located in Denver, but my clients come from the entire metro area including Douglas County, Arapahoe County, Jefferson County, Adams County and Denver County.

I know from experience that ending a marriage is a difficult undertaking. I know that there are times when a family law attorney needs to be zealous and diligent - which I am. But I'm also a lawyer who listens. It's not enough for me to know that you want the house; I want to know why you want the house. Sometimes people can get everything they asked for, but still feel like they lost. It doesn't have to be that way. It's possible to find creative solutions and equitable settlements. It's feasible to find a win-win resolution to a complicated situation. It is achievable to come through the experience and end on a positive note.
